Involvement in volunteering activities is a priceless platform in the process of youth development. Volunteering is not only just a side activity, it is an important avenue for shaping the youth's self-identity towards excellence, having noble values, and being highly visionary. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, in a message in conjunction with the International Volunteer Day 2025, explained that through volunteering, youth are exposed to the reality of community life, sharpening their leadership skills and problem solving, and instilling empathy as well as social responsibility.

Yang Berhormant Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi Mohammad said youths who actively volunteer are more prepared to become caring and capable future leaders. Volunteering holds deep cultural and social significance, and the concept of working together is the best example that forms the core for values as well as solidarity. Such noble culture, Yang Berhormat added, deserves to be instilled continuously so that it remains as the foundation of social development and the nation's resilience.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports remains committed to facilitating a more effective and organised volunteer engagement in the digital era through digital approach. Yang Berhormat also calls on all individual volunteers, youth organisations, and NGOs to register and activate their account on the Mengalinga application. The celebration's theme 'Every Contribution Matters' is a global recognition that every volunteering action, no matter how small, is important in strengthening the community, and driving meaningful change. The theme also marked the launch of the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development 2026.
